That’s right–it’s Chloe’s birthday today!
This is the first birthday that she’s actually looked forward to and understood. She knows that from now on when people ask how old she is she gets to show 3 fingers and say “THREE!” It’s quite thrilling for her considering how long she’s had to say “two.” 🙂
We started off the day with a couple Blue’s Clues shows (while I slowly tried to pry myself out of bed and get JD fed) then breakfast, where I let her open one of her gifts.
Then we went outside and played with her “new” T-Ball set that our neighbors gave to her. It’s actually one of my piano families who’s kids are now too old for it and offered it to us–we said YES PLEASE! and she loves it. Now we have to work on being careful not to hit cars or windows……..
After that we made a quick run to the gas station for coffee for me and a cookie for her. When we got home it was time to start on her pink cupcakes, which turned out just okay. I filled the a little too full so they didn’t rise very well, but I’m sure they’ll taste fine. I need to frost them still, which I hope to do while she’s napping.
Later today we have one of the nanny’s coming for a “trial run” for an hour so he can be prepared for next week. I’m not worried at all–this is actually the youngest boy in our normal nanny family, so he’s very comfortable with Chloe already. He’ll just have to figure out how to take care of JD and multi-task with Chloe begging for his attention.
Then tonight we have supper, presents, cupcakes and a dip in the hot tub planned to cap off her birthday. It should be fun!
I’ll post more pictures as we take them today.
Oh, no, I forgot to call. Hope she isn’t in bed yet…
Happy Birthday, Chloe! 3 years have gone fast!
Woops! I forgot to call once I got to work. I’ll try later.
