Writing about all the big & little things

Don’t worry… Chloe still gets attention too.

I had to laugh when I went back and re-watched the video from yesterday. Tim and I didn’t realize she asked to try the apple FOUR times but apparently you guys noticed… But fear not–she does still get a lot of attention around here. 🙂 In fact we can’t get over how much people (and my students) want to just give her things!  Yesterday I had a family ask if they could give Chloe some things after their lesson.  They brought in a ton of books, computer games, princess wall decals, a swim suite, and even elbow pads.  I tell you, it was like Christmas!  They were cleaning out their stuff and wanted to give it to her–some of the items were even still in the packages!

But I did think about what you guys said about her wanting to be the center of attention (which is a big adjustment of a first born to have to suddenly share the spotlight).  So I asked her if she wanted to make her own video today with just her in it… and she said no.  She wanted to be silly and hide…  And she wanted to sit by JD and hold his hand… And she wanted to sing in the microphone…  But when I pulled out the camera to let her have her moment to shine she wasn’t interested. Weird huh?  I thought she would jump at the opportunity!  At least I tried!

Today we went over to work on Kumi’s yard.  (She has a grading issue with the water running into the basement of their new house.)  We had a good time working on her yard.  It was a wonderfully beautiful day outside and I liked getting a good work-out doing something helpful.  We had to pull up the old filter fabric and move the rocks off then put down more dirt (sloped correctly) then put down new plastic and then put the rocks back again.  Considering that rocks are HEAVY, it was a bit of a process.  We only got half of it done since I had early lessons today, so Tim will have to go back and work some more on it later this week.

Here’s proof of our work!

Chloe helping Tim work--notice the "before" rocks next to them...

And now you can see some of the "after" rocks...

I have no doubt that you give Chloe equal attention! That is wonderful about all the things those people gave her! What fun!

Glad you are keeping busy outside until the snow actually falls.
