I’ve pulled out my crock-pot again for the Fall, and I’ve been trying a few things here and there. I did come across a delicious potato soup recipe that I just loved. Tim wasn’t extra keen on it, however, so we came up with a way to modify it so he’ll hopefully like it better. I plan to try it again this next week and if it turns out as deliciously wonderful as I anticipate I’ll post the recipe. 🙂 Yummmmmmm… Not low in calories, mind you, but so yummy.
On Tuesday I made crock-pot fajitas which turned out alright. Nice and spicy but lacked a little in overall flavor. They weren’t “finger licking” good, but I think we could add something to make them better. It did make the house smell good, thought. And that might be part of my favorite thing about using my crock-pot. It’s like potpourri that I actually get to eat at the end of the day! You know how some things you say, “Wow, that smells good enough to eat!” Well, in this case you get to! Haha!
Today I’m making Sweet ‘n Spicy (Crock-Pot) Ribs. I’ll let you know how they turn out. They have to simmer on low for 10 hours, so I had to run out of my lessons this morning and quick put them on. Luckily crock-pot recipes tend to be fairly easy to put together (another reason I like them!) We’re just getting to the point where they’re starting to make the house smell good. Ah…
And speaking of crock-pots, here is a random tid-bit of information about them: Every time you open the lid to look at your concoction, you need to add at least 10 min. to the cook time. Did you know that? So, resist the temptation to open that lid! 🙂
Happy Thursday everyone!
