Writing about all the big & little things

Chloe (5 years old)

After yesterdays picture it got me thinking about writing more about both kids specifically… especially for those who don’t get to interact with her much right now.  And tomorrow I’ll write about Josiah.

These are some interesting things about Chloe right now:

chloe cropped wide

♫ She loves helping with our morning list (crossing off completed items)

♫ She is ALWAYS humming or singing.  Especially when she eats.

♫ Her favorite color is definitely “Rainbow”

♫ If she could, she would wear a dress (or skirt) every day.

Yup! It's my childhood dress--now it's one of Chloe's favorites too!

♫ She is a bit bossy.  Yes, she’s a firstborn.

♫ She still often takes an afternoon nap.  That girl just needs a lot of sleep!

♫ She likes to play “puppy trainer” with Josiah making him walk around on all fours and telling him what to do. (He happily pants and follows her)

♫ She really dislikes eating carrots.

♫ She loves office supplies (paper, tape, scissors, etc.).

♫ Her favorite food is french fries.

♫ She is very helpful when she wants to be.

♫ She will sit in her room and draw while listening to Adventures in Odyssey for hours.

♫ She is unbelievably affectionate.

♫ And loves verbal praise.  Just last week I told her I would love her forever, no matter what she does, and she started crying and hugged me, saying, “that’s just to wonderful to hear you say!”

♫ She enjoys exercising with me (for a short while).

♫ She likes putting things “in order”

♫ She loves drawing.

♫ She can just about whistle.

♫ Her favorite show right now is My Little Pony…

♫ She is good at cleaning.

♫ She really wants to be able to read.

♫ She really loves her brother, even though she often gets annoyed by him…

What a wonderful post. I think I’m going to print it out and keep it. And I love that comment about loving her forever and what that meant to her. How many of us as parents even think to say that to our child? We just assume they know that. Or we say general things like “parents love their children, no matter what.” But to hear it personalized is obviously very powerful to a 5 year old, who has learned how naughty they can inadvertently be. You are a great mom, Erica.

Awe!! So sweet! That photo of her in the pink top writing at the table looks like she is a stunning photo. She looks so grown up! You are a great mom!

Thanks you guys! 🙂 Oh, I should say that the picture of Chloe writing was taken by my friend Tara. I agree–she really does look grown up, doesn’t she?

I just love Chloe. She is the sweetest thing ever.

I concur with Chris. Chloe understanding your love is forever is a great start for to understand her heavenly Father’s love for her-forever and unconditional. Yes, and don’t we all want to help when we want to. We can help on the outside but be angry about helping on the inside.
