I spent most of my day outside since it was just so gorgeous.  I had planned on getting the rest of the pile on the dining room table taken care of, but I guess that will just have to wait until tomorrow.  Instead I did a ton of lawn/garden work:  I mowed, and then used the leaf blower to really clear off the sidewalk and driveway; I pulled all of those annoying weeds growing up between the cracks in the sidewalk; I planted a few more flowers in the fenced side of the yard; and I spent a LOT of time weeding and replanting flowers in the giant planter by the mailbox (which after so much work looks better but not awesome.  I’m hoping after a few days the flowers will take and start to look a little happier.  We had a spreading low vine in the planter there but it just looked like an overgrown weed, so Tim suggested I get rid of it… so I tried to dig it up so I can plant it somewhere else.  Then I planted a bunch of impatients in place of the vine, which will hopefully survive in such a shady area.)

I also went for a nice run this morning (and I’ll have you know I learned from yesterday’s mistake–I was READY before I said the R-word.  🙂  See, she can be taught!)  I decided to try the trail by the river again since I really hadn’t been down there since May.  Back in March when it flooded the whole trail was covered in water.  I checked back in May and most of it was still underwater.  So today I thought it would for sure better.  I was wrong.  But it made for an interesting run.  I got to one place and had to turn around b/c the road was closed due to construction, then I got to another section and it was clear but the whole trail was covered in a thin layer of mud since it had been covered with water, and the I got to another section and it was still underwater so I detoured to one of the make-shift trails they made which was quite bumpy for the stroller (Chloe started saying “all done”–I guess it was too bumpy for her!) and I got halfway down that trail and THAT one was also covered in water.  So.  I gave up and ran back home.  And I’ve learned my lesson.  It will be quite some time before that wonderful trail is back up and ready again.  I had never expected the flooding to have such a dramatic effect.  Somehow I imagined things just going back to the way they were.  Obviously I don’t have a lot of experience with flooding.  Tomorrow we’ll just run in town.  🙂

But now I’m pooped.  So I’m going to snuggle up on the couch and just veg for a while.  All that sun really drained my energy.
