Tonight we attended our Pastor’s 50th birthday bash at a park here in town.  Christian, our worship pastor, even organized a bunch of us to play a few songs for entertainment.  Then I accompanied the Pastor’s daughter in singing a touching father-daughter song (that she ended up just crying through… but it was still sweet).  Then we ate grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and a vast array of potluck foods and enjoyed playing at the park while chatting with fellow church members.  Tim was also one of three judges who did a rib tasting contest.  He got to taste 5 plates of ribs and collaborate with the other judges to determine who’s ribs were the best of the best in the church.  Here’s a picture of the judges tasting–you can tell they are all very intent on what they’re doing.  🙂

All in all, it was a good time.  It’s nice to get to actually get to talk with other church members b/c we are almost always on worship team now–which means we arrive early to set up and leave late to tear down, so we don’t get to chat with anyone.  And the weather cooperated quite nicely with us.  It’s raining a little bit now, but nothing serious.

In fact… as I write this Tim is showing me the radar and it is “magically disappearing” right over us… AGAIN!  There is literally red and yellow all over the map and it just GONE when it gets to Shakopee.  Weird.  The sirens have gone off here in town so we have checked and we’re under a severe thunderstorm warning, tornado warning, and flash flood warning.   I’ve lit a candle just in case we loose power.  🙂
