Writing about all the big & little things

No Change

Today was a big appointment day–I had my prenatal appointment this morning and another chiropractor appointment this afternoon.  I decided to take Chloe to both (to work on her patience) and she did pretty well.  She did better at the chiropractor’s office, most likely because it was right after her nap and she was a little drowsy still… 🙂

Anyway, the prenatal appointments showed that I’m not progressing at all.  I’m still at just below 2 cm dilated, although the baby is head down.  It’s not really a big deal, since I’m not due for 2 more weeks, but I must admit I was hoping for something. Oh, well.  I’m happy to carry this baby as long as I need as long as he’s healthy and safe.  And on a day like today with more sweltering heat I’m glad he’s not suffering–especially if I had to be carrying him around in his padded, plush car seat.  Plus I was able to take a nice nap this afternoon when Chloe went down and I’m not sure how much longer that will happen.

The Chiropractor appointments are going well.  I had more pain after my appointment on Wednesday, but I had anticipated that… today I feel better and she even adjusted my neck which was nice.  I’m not sure how many more appointments I’ll be able to do before I actually deliver, but I feel so much better knowing I’ve tried to help the pain in my hips before going through labor.

Tomorrow morning we’re going to the beach again with the Baker’s.  Hopefully we won’t get rained out like last week!  🙂

To give you a little “hope” (not that you need it!), I had my last prenatal apt less than 24 hours before Isaac was born. Nothing had happened even though I had been off bedrest for about a week. In fact, it looked like I was more closed up than I had been before. Late that night/early the next morning my water broke and I had lightning fast labor.

On the other hand, I remember appointments just like yours, Erica, where I was so sure I’d progressed, since I’d been having so many Braxton Hicks contractions, but then, nothing had changed. And I ended up going til full term. Either way, you’ll have this baby before long!
