It’s been a couple days since I posted… I thought it was about time to quick sit down and write something.  Things are going well here.  We’re all quite tired, but that’s the way it goes with a newborn.  JD is having a hard time getting his days and nights right–so he wants to sleep all day and then won’t let me sleep at night… it makes for frustrating nights and one tired Mama!  But I know he’ll get it eventually.  We’re trying our hardest to keep him awake during the day, but when he makes up his mind to sleep there is just no amount of coaxing to stop him.

He’s becoming quite the little eating machine.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s back up to his birth weight by his one week check up.  Chloe was the same way and had returned to her birth weight by her first visit…  When we left the hospital they told us he had lost 5% of his weight, which is completely normal and expected.  I hope to get him in for his check up on Tuesday, but I forgot to call to schedule an appointment on Friday, so hopefully when I call on Monday they’ll have an opening.

Today was an exciting day of visitors here.  Scott, Shannon & Xavi came to visit this morning for a little bit then Patsy came around lunch then Ryan, Stephanie, Logan & Allison came just before supper.  It was great to see everyone and Chloe, in particular, had a really great time playing with so many different people.  I can tell she is just antsy to burn off energy these days and I just can’t match her level of energy quite yet.  I think she’s going to have a FABULOUS time at my folks house for the next couple of days.  She’ll be able to run and play to her heart’s content and really wear herself out!  I also think she’ll enjoy being able to just be free for a while–we’re all tired of saying, “be gentle with the baby” and she’s tired of hearing it I imagine… 🙂

Here’s to hoping he sleeps between his feedings tonight!
