I have oodles and oodles of pictures from our family gathering this weekend, but before I dive into those, I just had to post our first day of school pictures. Chloe had her outfit all laid out last night and her backpack packed (to the brim–she had a lot of items they asked her to bring to class like kleenex, clorox wipes, gym shoes, art shirt, ziplock bags–so it was really heavy… poor girl.) Anyway we all walked to the bus stop this morning with Kylene and Justin to see her get on. She was very nervous, but did great. She walked right on. I didn’t ask her to turn around on the bus so I could get a better picture–I figured she was nervous enough. But after she found a seat she waved happily out the window at me. She didn’t cry or cling to me at all. Such a brave girl. 🙂
And I haven’t cried either. I’m more curious how today turns out. Tim went into work early so he could meet her at the bus stop when she gets home. I’m sure she’ll have SOOOOOO much to tell us!
I have been thinking about her all day! I can’t wait to hear how it went. So cool that Kylene and Justin were there for the big event 🙂
She came home bounding off the bus and exclaimed at the top of her lungs that “Kindergarten is AWESOME!” and that she is excited to go back again tomorrow. She likes riding the bus and has a super nice teacher and she even made some friends. We’re off to a great start!
So glad she had a great time!
Sounds like kindergarten suits her! I thought it would.
Looking at her pictures, you don’t see any of that nervousness on her face that you saw a year ago when she went off to pre-school. She just looks genuinely excited!
